The New Saints handed home Newport County tie in cup
Tuesday 6th December 2011, 10:59AM GMT.
The New Saints have been handed a home tie with Newport County in the fourth round of the FAW Welsh Cup.
The clubs last met in March 2007, when Saints lifted the FAW Premier Cup with a Steve Beck goal in a 1-0 final win at County’s own Spytty Park.
But TNS , who were 6-0 winners over Bryntirion in the third round, are likely to face a second string side this time around as County have a Blue Square Premier fixture away at Gateshead on Saturday, January 29 – the scheduled weekend for the tie to be played.
The draw in full: Aberystwyth Town v Llandudno, Buckley Town v Bala Town, Carmarthen Town v AFC Porth, Afan Lido v Airbus UK Broughton, Prestatyn Town v Cefn Druids, Flint Town United v Neath FC, Rhyl FC v Llanelli, The New Saints v Newport County.
Ties to be played the last weekend in January.
