Ex-Wolves star Matt Murray signs for Bridgnorth Town

Bridgnorth Town have pulled off a major coup by recruiting former Wolves star Matt Murray as their goalkeeping coach.
The 30-year-old saw a highly promising career cruelly cut short by a catalogue of injury problems and was forced to retire last September.
Murray has just completed his testimonial year and has agreed to help out his former Wolves team-mate and now Bridgnorth boss Mark Clyde at Crown Meadow.
“Matt’s coming down to work with the goalkeepers and that’s great news for us,” said the boss of the side currently lying 14th in the Midland Alliance, who revealed Murray may well be in the Bridgnorth dug-out on the occasional match day in the near future.
“We got talking at his testimonial dinner and he said that if ever I need to any help just to get in touch. “I gave him a shout a couple of weeks ago and he has been to a couple of training sessions.
“He is going through his coaching badges at the moment so it’s helping him with that – it’s a win-win situation.”
Murray is working with first team goalkeeper Chris Crook, reserve team stopper Daz Walters and Ben Taylor of the under 18s.
“It’s great for those lads to work with someone like Matt,” added Clyde.
