Adrian Gunnell back at top of snooker
Thursday 10th November 2011, 9:51AM GMT.
Shropshire’s Adrian Gunnell has booked his place at the top table of snooker’s UK Championship.
Telford’s Gunnell qualified for the televised stages of the sport’s second biggest tournament with a gritty 6-4 victory over Joe Perry in Gloucester last night.
That was the 39-year-old’s third qualifying victory in as many evenings and sets up a meeting with world No 12 Mark Allen in the last 32 at York next month.
“I’m chuffed to bits and really proud of what I have achieved,” said Gunnell.
