Shropshire’s new kid on the international footballing block has made a winning England debut.

Telford’s Ben O’Hanlon came on as a 52nd minute substitute for England under-16s in last night’s Victory Shield clash with Northern Ireland at Chesterfield.

The hosts ran out 3-1 winners with left-back O’Hanlon – a pupil at Stirchley’s Lord Silkin School who is on the books of Wolves – playing his part in the closing stages.
