Shropshire cricketer Dan Redfern has been rewarded for his most productive season in the professional game with a new contract.
The 21-year-old from Tibberton, near Newport, has agreed a new three-year deal with Derbyshire after scoring 775 runs in 13 first class matches, at an average of 31.
Redfern, a former pupil at Newport’s Adams Grammar School and an ex-England under-19 international, said: “It has been an enjoyable season and great to see young players get their opportunity.
“With a young and talented squad, who are very much together as a unit, Derbyshire is an exciting place to be at the present time and I’m looking forward optimistically to the new season.”
