Bylet have received a boost ahead of a likely Furrows Shropshire Premier League play-off, writes JAMES GARRISON.

The Bridgnorth-based side notched a 9-5 home victory over Bowring last night, Craig Owen’s 21-8 the best result in a comfortable 33 chalk aggregate victory.

Mathematically, that still leaves Bylet with a chance of avoiding bottom spot in tonight’s final round of matches which sees them host Archibald Worthington while Wem USC entertain champions elect Newport.

Bylet must overcome an 11-point deficit to avoid finishing bottom, while three victories for Newport at Wem will see them become champions for the first time.

Meanwhile, Burway are on course for a third consecutive shot at the play-offs.

Their 11-1 home triumph over Stokesay last night put them on the brink of winning the Ludlow League title again.
