Shrewsbury’s final Birmingham League game put back

Shrewsbury’s final game of the Birmingham League cricket season has been put back 24 hours.

The London Road men were due to head to current premier division leaders Barnt Green for the final game on Saturday, September 17, but that game clashes with Shrewsbury’s National Knockout final with Cambridge Granta at Derby.

League officials have now elected to delay the trip to Barnt Green to the Sunday.

With Barnt Green holding a handsome 46 point lead at the top, they are likely to wrap the title up in the next two weeks.

But if the destination of the championship is not decided before the final day, other games – including third placed Wellington’s trip to Moseley – could be moved to the Sunday to ensure no team has an advantage.
