Cricket: Shropshire’s Birmingham League cricket contingent to be cut

Shropshire’s Birmingham League cricket contingent is set to be cut from seven teams to six next season.
St Georges suffered a seven wicket division three defeat at Brewood yesterday which confirmed their relegation and return to Shropshire league cricket for the first time since 2003.
And with Reman Services – hot favourites for the Marston’s League – ineligible for promotion because they didn’t start the season with a third team, Shropshire is set to be represented by one less team in one of the top leagues in England in 2012.

This article is factually incorrect as there is room for movement from the Birm Leagu on this issue. Reman have applied for a 3rd team for next year and my understanding is the BL are willing to look at this.
