TNS Europa heroes to miss Shropshire Senior cup match

The New Saints’ Europa League heroes will sit out the club’s first venture into the Shropshire Senior Cup tonight.
With the Europa League second qualifying round first leg meeting with FC Midtjylland looming on Thursday, boss Mike Davies will not risk any of the team which started in last week’s 1-0 victory against Cliftonville for the semi-final visit of Shrewsbury.
“We will use lads who were on the bench at Cliftonville and a number of our scholars,” revealed Davies.
“A lot of the lads were frustrated at not being picked for last Thursday so this is a good chance for them to prove a point.
“I think Shrewsbury are sending a youthful team as well so it should be a decent game.”
The competition’s expansion to four teams this season has led to TNS being invited to compete for the first time.
“Although it’s not convenient between two European games, we are delighted to be part of the Shropshire Senior Cup,” added Davies.
