Foster’s men want to keep flag flying

Shrewsbury have their sights on a place in the last 16 of English cricket’s biggest club competition tomorrow.

They travel to face fellow Birmingham League premier division side Wolverhampton at Danescourt in the regional final of the 45-overs-per-side competition (1.30pm).

Shrewsbury reached the semi-finals in 2009 and are looking to mount another challenge this time around.

“Tomorrow is a game we are certainly capable of winning and it’s a good opportunity,” said captain Ed Foster.

“The Midlands group is always a tough one to come through so it would be a good achievement to get to the last 16 and then anything can happen.”

Overseas player Paul Donaldson is ineligible while Steve Leach and Steve Barnard are on Shrewsbury School duty.
