Shropshire racer Ben Wylie has proved himself one of the best riders in this year’s Isle of Man TT series.

Market Drayton-based Ben, a relative newcomer to the TT event, rode a “team Wylie and Holland” Yamaha in the 2 Monster Energy Supersport 600 races .

After practice Ben had qualified in 10th position, up with top riders such as Michael Dunlop, Guy Martin and TT legend John McGuiness.

The Supersport 600 race 1,sadly had to be stopped after only one lap after the tragic death of Irish rider Derek Brien, up on the mountain section of the 37 and three-quarter-mile course.

The race was later restarted, and after four gruelling laps Ben came home in eighth position with a time of 57.00.33 averaging 119.8 mph, just 2 minutes 20 seconds behind the Kimi winner, Bruce Anstey.

The second Supersport 600 race had to be abandoned after just one lap because of the weather and when held the following day Ben finsihed one place better in seventh place to finish in seventh position overall.

    Nice one, Ben!

Great to be mentioned in the same breath as John, Guy, and Bruce (who is a Kiwi, BTW)
