TNS’s Mike Davies is league manager of the month
Monday 4th April 2011, 4:15PM BST.
Having seen The New Saints move clear at the top of the Welsh Premier, boss Mike Davies had double reason to smile after landing the league’s manager of the month award.
It was the first such honour for Davies who was appointed chief of the Saints at the end of last season.
He was the only unbeaten league manager during February and March, and landed a combined award for the two months as the Saints overcame a 16-point deficit to take over from Bangor City at the top of the table.
TNS, who are now unbeaten in 27 games in all competitions, recorded home wins over Llanelli, Prestatyn and Bangor during the two months.
TNS, meanwhile, have announced that Carl Darlington, currently studying for his UEFA Pro Licence qualification, will have senior responsibility for first team matters as the club’s first team head coach.
He will work alongside Davies, who will continue to oversee all aspects of football development.
Long serving player Scott Ruscoe will form part of the management team and will assist with first team coaching duties.
