Preview evening swops Cheltenham tips
Thursday 3rd March 2011, 3:40PM GMT.
Pointers for the Cheltenham Festival were flying in from all angles at a special preview evening in Shropshire.
More than 100 racing enthusiasts packed into Oswestry Cricket Club last night to hear a five-strong panel discuss their tips for the four-day National Hunt extravaganza which begins on Tuesday week.
Jockeys Richard Johnson and Noel Fehily were the star turns at Morda Road.
And Johnson faces another evening in front of the microphone tonight as he attends Ludlow Racecourse’s preview forum after riding at the south Shropshire track this afternoon.
Amongst the other guests panelists are leading trainer Nicky Henderson, top bloodstock agent Anthony Bromley and former Shropshire Star tipster Sam Turner, who is now the Daily Mail’s Robin Goodfellow.
Donald McCain, trainer of Shropshire owned Champion Hurdle favourite Peddlers Cross, will be offering his views at Bangor’s preview evening, which is also being staged tonight at the racecourse.
