The New Saints eye up cup double

The New Saints, in the semi-finals of the Welsh Cup for the first time in six years, have been drawn against either Llanelli or Prestatyn as they chase a cup double.

The Oswestry-based Saints are already in the final of the Loosemores Cup where they will take on Llanelli, and will also have their sights on the prestigious Welsh Cup.

But standing in the way will be either Llanelli or Prestatyn whose quarter-final was postponed last Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch. The clubs try again on Saturday.

In the other semi-final, holders Bangor City – who have now won 21 successive ties – will take on Cymru Alliance side Gap Connah’s Quay.

The ties, both be televised by S4C, will be played on April 9 and 10 at neutral venues.
