Damien Nicholls in fine form with table tennis gold

Shropshire table tennis ace Damien Nicholls heads for next month’s National Championships in the form of his life.
The Bridgnorth-based youngster warmed up for the ETTA Nationals in Sheffield with a gold and silver medal at the British Universities Championships.
Damien increased his growing reputation by winning gold in Nottingham after beating former Scottish junior No 1 Craig Howieson (Edinburgh) 3-0.
He then teamed up with Brad Evans to take the silver, the pair going down to Nottingham pairing of Mark Simpson and Alim Hirji.
Damien has now won the English Schools Championships at all age levels, British Schools Championships at all age levels, UK School Games in 2008, the British Colleges Championships two years running and now the British University Championships.
The National Championships run from March 4-6 in the Ponds Forge International Sports Hall.
