Ludlow race meeting is called off

Ludlow’s scheduled meeting tomorrow has been abandoned due to a frozen track.
Clerk of the course Bob Davies was able to make an early call before his scheduled 12pm inspection yesterday after another night of freezing temperatures.
“We are frozen solid down to six inches and I think the last day we’d have been raceable would have been December 15,” said Davies.
“We’ve been raceable for only two days since November 24. It got down to minus 6c on Monday night so we’ve no chance.
“It might start improving on Friday or Saturday when we have some rain forecast. We need warm rain to get in and penetrate the ground.”
