Shrewsbury Town may be in the midst of a three-week break from competitive action — but an award treble could be on the cards at the Greenhous Meadow.

Boss Graham Turner and winger Mark Wright have been nominated for the nPower League Two manager and player of the month award for November.

And that could form part of a trophy double for Wright who has claimed the ESPN PFA League Two Fans’ Player of the Month, voted for by supporters.

The 28-year-old has bagged six goals in five games throughout the penultimate month of the year, part of a hot streak which has brought eight goals in as many games.

Wright is up against Morecambe’s Phil Jeavons, Port Vale’s John McCombe and Danny Whittaker of Chesterfield for the nPower award.

Meanwhile, Town’s unbeaten League record through November has earned Turner a nomination for the manager award.

They have secured a 2-1 victory over Crewe before brushing Hereford aside 4-0, while the trip to Stevenage and home game with Southend have both yielded 1-1 draws.

The only Shrewsbury defeat in the last month came with the late FA Cup heartbreak at Southampton.

The other managers in contention for the award are Micky Adams of table-topping Port Vale, Torquay’s Paul Buckle and Rotherham’s Ronnie Moore.

The decisions will be announced on Thursday with former Charlton boss Alan Curbishley amongst the judging panel.
