Snooker legend Jimmy White set for Shropshire cracker
Thursday 2nd December 2010, 11:29AM GMT.
After the snow that has swept across the county, Shropshire can brace itself for a Whirlwind as Jimmy White booked himself a place in the UK Championship at Telford.
And White will take on his old foe Stephen Hendry in the opening round in a clash of two snooker legends.
That match begins on Sunday afternoon at the International Centre with the concluding session on Monday at 12.30pm.
White, now world No 64, has won three matches just to reach this stage, including seeing off Shropshire interest when he defeated Telford’s Adrian Gunnell earlier this week.
And the Whirlwind, 48, booked his date with Hendry after beating Joe Perry 9-6 last night with top breaks of 88, 79 and 136.
