The heat is off Ted ‘The Count’ Hankey
Wednesday 17th November 2010, 12:23PM GMT.
The heat is off Shropshire’s Ted Hankey when he completes his round-robin matches at the Grand Slam of Darts at Wolverhampton’s Civic Hall tonight.
Hankey, of Aqueduct in Telford, has already won both his group games to date, including a famous 5-4 triumph over Phil Taylor.
And that means he has reached the last 16 knockout stage, regardless of the outcome of tonight’s last group match against Michael van Gerwen.
But the pressure is on Taylor and another star name Raymond van Barneveld – both must win their matches this matches against Wes Newton and Darryl Fitton respectively to remain in the £400,000 tournament.
