Market Drayton handed Shropshire Challenge Cup advantage

Favourites Market Drayton Town have been handed home advantage in the quarter-finals of the Shropshire Challenge Cup.

The Evo Stik League division one south outfit will take on Whitchurch Alport – of Cheshire League division two – in the last eight, scheduled for January 8.

There is a tasty north Shropshire clash between landlords and tenants with Wem Town entertaining rivals Shawbury United.

But arguably the tie of the round sees West Midlands League division one title-chasers Wellington Amateurs entertain Midland Alliance outfit Ellesmere Rangers while Hanwood United make the trip to St Martins.
