Town’s away form continues to improve with a hard-fought and slightly fortunate draw at Stevenage, writes Shrewsbury Town blogger James Pugh.

In a game of two halves Town can be very pleased with their 1-1 draw on Saturday, which moved them into the automatic promotion positions.

Credit must go to the manager who realised we were getting battered in the first half and changed the formation and personnel early enough for it to have a positive impact on the game.

Credit must also go to Harrold who has been unlucky not to be in the team recently, but still showed enough hunger to grab the equaliser.

With the busy Christmas period approaching Town are looking in excellent shape, picking up regular points at home and away.

Future targets must be to maintain pressure on the other promotion chasers and try and get players who have been injured, like Ainsworth, Bright and Elder, back to fitness.

To achieve promotion we are going to need everyone in the squad fit and pulling their weight.

Following three tough games on the road Town return home this weekend with a match against Southend.

Southend have had a disappointing season so far, lying in the lower half of the table and just three points from the relegation zone.

Town will be favourites to win the game, but that counts for nothing and we will have to be on top of our game to avoid slipping up.

After an annoying first half performance it was nice to see Harrold coming on. What if he had started, maybe we could have had 3 points.
