Richard Davies on temporary loan from Bucks
Thursday 11th November 2010, 12:54PM GMT.
Former Walsall midfielder Richard Davies has made a temporary move away from AFC Telford United – agreeing a month’s loan with Chasetown.
The 21-year-old made his debut for the Scholars last night, though he was powerless to prevent his new side falling to a 2-0 defeat at Buxton in the Evo-Stik League premier division.
Bucks boss Andy Sinton believes the deal will benefit all parties, insisting Davies could still have a big part to play in Telford’s season further down the line.
“We’ve got a good relationship with Charlie Blakemore (the Chasetown manager) and Digger (Davies) will go there for 28 days,” said Sinton.
“Hopefully he’ll get five or six games and then come back here.
“We rate him and he had a great pre-season but he just hasn’t been able to force his way into the team.
“The games at Chasetown will do him good and he’ll come back here just before the busy Christmas period starts.”
Meanwhile, Telford have issued a circular notifying clubs that 33-year-old right-back Martyn Naylor is available.
Naylor picked up an injury in pre-season and has now dropped behind Will Salmon and Ashley Woolliscroft in the pecking order.
“No-one has made an official approach but I have heard a whisper another club in our league might be showing an interest,” added Sinton. “Martyn needs to be playing games.”
s Telford are without a game on Saturday so Sinton is taking the chance to try something different in training tonight with an indoor gym based training session.
