Shropshire’s Katie Edwards in England women’s Switzerland squad

Shropshire teenager Katie Edwards is getting ready for a taste of the jet-set lifestyle of an international footballer.
The 18-year-old from Wem has earned a place in the England women’s squad heading to the European Deaf Futsal Championships in Switzerland next week.
Edwards, who plays for AFC Telford United and West Brom Ladies, will join her England team-mates on the flight to Wintherthur on November 8.
She will stay on in the central European country for 10 days, helping Enbgland in their bid for glory.
The youngster, a sports student at Oswestry College, will take part in games against the likes of Germany and Bulgaria.
She won her place on the flight after impressing in a series of training camps.
