Temitope Obadeyi of Shrewsbury Town reacts after missing a chance to score in the final minute

Two goals in three first half minutes was enough for Shrewsbury Town to make it five wins out of seven at the Greenhous Meadow this season as struggling Barnet’s away woes continued.

Town were some way short of their best but did enough to see off the visitors who have now taken just one point from seven matches on their travels.

Both sides had their chances in the opening 30 minutes, Barnet going closest when Jordan Parkes struck the post.

But it was Town who took the lead on 37  minutes when Barnet goalkeeper Jake Cole failed to hold a shot from Mark Wright and Craig Disley was on hand to slot home the rebound.

And the advantage was doubled moments later when Jake Robinson saw a shot blocked and Matt Harrold was first to react as he bundled home from 10 yards.

Barnet refused to lie down in an open second half and set up a nervy conclusion on 61 minutes when Parkes found the bottom corner with a shot from 20 yards.

But Shrewsbury saw out the closing stages, during which both Robinson and Tope Obadedyi had golden chances to put the outcome beyond doubt.
