Shropshire Senior Cup could be pushed back to 2011
Friday 22nd October 2010, 3:30PM BST.
The Shropshire Senior Cup final between Shrewsbury Town and AFC Telford could be pushed back to the start of 2011.
County FA officials had pencilled the showpiece occasion in November but that is now looking unlikely.
“The two clubs have other obligations during November,” said Shropshire FA spokesman Neil Sambrook.
“We are still hopeful of playing it in 2010 but time may dictate that we have to go into the New Year.”
No decision has yet been made on whether the final, won by Shrewsbury 2-1 at Telford last year, will be played at the Greenhous Meadow or the New Bucks Head.

Save on the Police bill and scrap the game.
Why give the local yobs chance to have an organised fight?
Its just a money raising exercise for the Shropshire FA so why not hold a raffle instead!!

The match has nothing to do with local yobs meeting up for a ‘fight’ they could do that by without a match so scrapping the game isnt going to do anything, probablyy just add more ‘yobs’ who would be at the match going to the fight with nothing to do .. so scrapping it bad idea ;)

It matters because it is the oldest surviving football cup competition in the WORLD. It is always best towards the end of the season when clubs have been knocked out of everything else and it’s something to try and win rather than the limp pre-season friendly it has been made into. It should absolutely not just include Shrewsbury and Telford but also Ludlow, Market Drayton, Shifnal Town, and probably TNS too as they are based in Shropshire. It matters to smaller clubs as a relatively big payday and a chance for an upset – they should never be excluded as they have been. Undersold by the county F.A. The behaviour of a few idiots shouldn’t be allowed to spoil what should be a county showpiece.
