Duncan Horler back with Market Drayton Town
Wednesday 20th October 2010, 3:00PM BST.
Market Drayton Town have re-signed former star Duncan Horler on the eve of the club’s biggest game of the season.
Midfielder Horler put pen to paper on a move from Chasetown yesterday but has not signed in time to play in the club’s FA Trophy replay away to Worksop Town tonight (7.45pm).
But Drayton boss Simon Line still believes the signing will provide impetus ahead of the trip to Nottinghamshire.
“Duncan is a good player and someone we know all about,” Line said.
“He was integral to our success last season and it is great to have him back.
“He is a very driven and combative player and we have missed that drive so far this season.
“He won’t actually be able to play for us for about a week and a half because he goes on holiday on Saturday but he is a great addition.”
Mark Grice’s 90th minute leveller in Saturday’s original clash between the teams sent the tie to tonight’s replay and Simon Line is keen to make the most of a second opportunity.
He said: “We’ll go there with plenty of confidence that we can give them a good game as was the case on Saturday.
“We battled well and if we do that again then we have every chance of getting a result.
“We want to make the most of having a second bite at the cherry.”
And Drayton, without a win or a point in the league so far this season, can take confidence from a tremendous 2-1 win away at AFC Fylde in the last round.
Line added: “It’s a big game for us but we have proved we can do it already this season and hopefully we can get another result similar to the one at Fylde.”
Drayton are expected to remain unchanged from Saturday with centre-back Grant Goodhead, who has missed the last two games, struggling with a hamstring injury.
Fellow central defender Marc Stallard will travel despite playing for county rivals Shawbury United on Saturday.
Forward Tom Ward is out while there is also a doubt surrounding defender Gary Anslow’s availability.
Worksop are unbeaten since August on their own patch and sit fourth in the Evo-Stik Premier League – a division above Drayton.
