Adrian Gunnell facing whirlwind battle for UK Championships
Saturday 16th October 2010, 12:34PM BST.
Shropshire snooker star Adrian Gunnell could be caught in a whirlwind in his battle to reach the UK Championships in Telford.
That’s because he has Jimmy ‘The Whirlwind’ White as his potential first opponent in qualifying at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield next month.
White must first beat either Joe Delaney or Adam Wicheard for the right to face Gunnell in the third qualifying round.
The winner of that match will then play Joe Perry for a place in the main draw of the UK Championship, which takes place at the Telford International Centre on December 4 to 12.
Meanwhile, Gunnell suffered a setback as he was beaten 4-3 by little-known German Lasse Munstermann at Star Xing Pai Players Tour Championship event six in Sheffield.
