The New Saints 5 Aberystwyth Town 0
Tuesday 12th October 2010, 12:09PM BST.
Richie Partridge’s hat-trick put Aberystwyth to flight as The New Saints returned to winning ways with another goal spree at Park Hall.
The defending champions may still be 11 points behind runaway leaders Bangor City, but they are certainly filling their boots at home having now netted 18 times in their last three league outings.
Partridge, released by Stockport during the summer, led the latest goal spree against an Aber side whose challenge soon faded once they had strong early claims for a penalty rejected by Dublin official Neil Doyle.
Alex Darlington had put the Saints on course when slotting in a 15th minute opener following some Craig Jones trickery on the right byline that saw the winger leave the defence in his wake.
The Saints dominated the second period, and Partridge completed his hat-trick when flicking in Chris Marriott’s left wing cross on 58 minutes, before the persevering Matty Berkeley crashed home No 5 into the top corner.
