Shrewsbury Town crashed out of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy after their game with Bury ended 0-0 and resulted in a penalty shoot-out which Bury won 6-5.

Speaking afterwards, manager Graham Turner said: “We have to be disappointed to go out of the competition.

“I thought we didn’t turn up in the first half and weren’t really competitive, didn’t get the movement that we expected and as a result Bury looked better than us.

“In the second half I thought we came out and gave it a right good go, got better and have the best chance of the game with young Tom Bradshaw.”
