Graham Turner says fans have big part to play

Shrewsbury Town boss Graham Turner believes the Greenhous Meadow faithful have a huge part to play in Town’s promotion push.
Turner, whose side hosted Torquay United this afternoon, believes the fans can inspire his side to three points.
Town have picked up just one point from their last two away trips but a return to their home turf represents an excellent opportunity to get back to winning ways against a Torquay side who have not won any of their last six games.
Turner said: “The fans have been superb this season and they must stick with us even if we go through periods where we are not playing well.
“They can make a big difference to the side.
“I think they’ve seen some good football and I think they’ve liked what they’ve seen. If things go wrong in the early part of the match they’ve got to stick with us.
“It’s amazing the difference good support makes to a player and the supporters can play their part in whatever we do this season.”
Meanwhile, Town full back Dean Holden’s loan spell with Rotherham United has been extended for another month.
Holden joined the Millers at the start of the season and has made five appearances in that time.
The 31-year-old’s new loan deal expires on November 2, although Shrewsbury have an instant recall clause should the player need to return to the Greenhous Meadow.
Turner added: “Dean’s decided that he would like to stay there and they wanted to keep him for another month although he’s not in their side at the moment.
“If we do find we’re short of defenders we can always call him back so it works out for all three parties Rotherham, Dean and ourselves.”
