Blog: No need for Shrews fans to panic after Port Vale defeat

Blog: Port Vale seem the team to beat this season after Town lost ground at the top, writes Shrewsbury Town blogger James Pugh.
A disappointing week saw Town suffer late heartbreak against Wycombe and a disappointing 1-0 derby defeat to the table-toppers last night.
Despite one point out of six, Town faced two difficult away games and there is definitely no need for fans to panic.
In last night’s match Town more than matched their local rivals and on another day could have easily picked up three points. Our attacking players weren’t at their best but credit to Port Vale as they look a well-drilled side.
On Saturday Town threw away two points after conceding late to Wycombe in the 2-2 draw. We certainly did enough to win the game, and if we had a bit more luck in front of goal, and if Ainsworth had been available from the start, things might have been different.
One player I want to talk about is youngster Tom Bradshaw. The Welsh striker has impressed a lot of people since he broke into the first team last season and always seems to make an impact in each game he features in.
He reminds me of a young Luke Rodgers and if he is looked after by Town’s coaching staff and is bled into the first team properly he could become a real star.
A word of warning to the chairman: If clubs come sniffing tell them to forget about getting him on the cheap. We don’t need to be a selling club!
What do Town fans think of him and how far do you think he can go in the game?
After two disappointing games on the road Town return to home comforts with a difficult game against Torquay on Saturday.
Torquay have surprised a few people with their impressive start to the season, although in recent weeks their form has dipped.
If Town can keep winning their home games, they can afford to slip-up ‘occasionally’ on their travels in their bid for promotion.
