Former Shrewsbury stopper Lee Kendall is left flat on his back as Craig Jones celebrates the third TNS goal

After a shaky start, the Saints embarked on another goal frenzy at Park Hall to stay in touch with the Welsh Premier leaders.

Having hammered Carmarthen 7-0 in their last home league outing, prospects of another rout looked far removed with TNS trailing to Luke Bowen’s 10th minute strike.

It could have been worse with Bowen having a goal disallowed, while Martin Rose also rattled the post.

However, the defending champions stormed back in style with two goals on the stroke of half time, and four more after the break.

“The first half hour wasn’t the greatest but the lads can be proud of the way they recovered,” said boss Mike Davies. “We pulled our socks up and got it sorted.”

Richie Partridge levelled from a Craig Jones cross before full back Danny Holmes netted a second on half time.

After that the Saints never looked back in the second period to secure an emphatic victory.

Craig Jones increased the margin courtesy of a neat pass from Matty Williams before Scott Ruscoe converted a 55th minute penalty after Bowen had fouled Holmes in the box.

TNS continued to create chances with Williams making it five before Barry Hogan completed the rout in injury time with a fine 20-yarder.
