Shrewsbury Town 3 Northampton Town 1
Saturday 18th September 2010, 6:15PM BST.
A quickfire second half double from Jake Robinson sealed the victory which sent Shrewsbury Town back to the top of League Two.
Robinson struck in the 47th minute after latching onto a long clearance from goalkeeper Chris Neal and finishing coolly.
And four minutes later, he was on the mark again as he drilled a superb effort into the bottom corner from 20 yards afetr a neat lay-off from Mark Wright.
Despite a fine first half display from Shrewsbury, the hosts found themselves on level terms at the halfway stage.
Matt Harrold had given the hosts a 12th minute lead before a 25-yard free-kick from Kevin Thornton gave Northampton an equaliser on the stroke of half-time.
But Robinson’s rapid double strike ensured Town got the maximum reward another impressive home display deserved.
