Shrews’ hat-trick hero Jake Robinson wants more

Hat-trick hero Jake Robinson is eager to stay among the goals after getting Shrewsbury Town’s season off to a storming start.
Robinson fired a terrific treble to send nPower League Two title favourites Bradford City spiralling to a 3-1 defeat on the first day of the season on Saturday.
It marked a dream return to the club for manager Graham Turner – and Robinson, who underwent a hernia operation in the summer, hopes there is more to come.
His three goals against the Bantams means he has already matched his League goal tally for the whole of last season.
“I’ve put a lot of hard work in during the pre-season,” he said. “I had the op to strengthen that area and I’ve come back sharp and flying – it doesn’t get much better than that.
“I was very disappointed with last season and looking to bounce back.
“If the goals keep coming then everyone will be pleased – especially me!
“The whole team has gelled really well in pre-season and what a fantastic squad we have got,” he added.
Meanwhile, Turner insisted there was still more to come from his new-look team – which featured eight debutants in the starting line-up, with substitute Sean McAllister the ninth.
“I think they’ll get better, that’s the pleasing thing,” he said.
“We’ve got a bit of experience – there’s not a lot of age out there but quite a number of players who have played at a good level.
“When you’ve got good players like that they soon get to know each other.”
And Turner had no complaints over referee Steve Rushton’s decision to dismiss midfielder Kevin McIntyre after a bust-up with Bradford sub Lewis Moult.
“I think there was a bit of flailing legs there, I wouldn’t argue with the referee,” he said.
“It could have been costly but we’ve got away with it.
“He’s a player that has got stacks of enthusiasm. He got wound up with his tackles once or twice and it was a bit of retaliation from what I gather. He’ll learn.”
