Former Wolves pair to get chance of trial at Bucks
Saturday 17th July 2010, 11:29AM BST.
AFC Telford United are offering trials to former Wolves protégés Kyle Bennett and Matt Bailey.
Telford-based Bennett has been offered the chance to relaunch his career at the New Bucks Head after being released by the Molineux men.
Bennett – whose brother Elliott is on the books of Brighton – is currently on trial with League Two club Bury.
But the Bucks will make their move if that comes to nothing.
First team coach John Psaras revealed: “He’s playing for Bury today but he’s expecting an answer after that, and if he doesn’t get an offer there, we’d like him to come and have a look at us as well.”
Bailey was released by Wolves in 2009, having had loan spells with the likes of Kidderminster and Burton.
The midfielder-cum-winger spent part of last season with Stourbridge but is now looking to move.
“The gaffer is keen to invite him to training,” said Psaras. “He may be involved in the Hereford game on Tuesday and we’ll take it from there.”
Meanwhile, midfielder Dean Bennett, 32, has also been training with the Bucks this week.
The experienced Bennett has made over 300 appearances with Kidderminster Harriers but was not offered a new deal by boss Steve Burr at the end of last season.
