Shrewsbury Town in Birmingham City training game
Tuesday 13th July 2010, 3:12PM BST.
Shrewsbury Town were today facing a Premier League challenge – as Graham Turner was given the first chance to assess his squad in a match situation.
Town made the short trip to Birmingham City for a behind closed doors training game with Alex McLeish’s side.
Manager Turner was expected to give the vast majority of his squad a run-out, while Blues – who depart on a pre-season tour of Hong Kong and China tomorrow – had indicated they would play different teams in each half.
New recruits Ian Sharps, Mat Sadler and David Raven were all set to feature for Shrewsbury.
The game will provide a useful run-out ahead of next week’s trip to north Devon for the Joma South West Challenge Cup.
