Paul Simpson heading back to Shrewsbury Town
Monday 12th July 2010, 12:42PM BST.
Paul Simpson is heading back to Shrewsbury Town next season – as manager of Stockport County, writes JAMES GARRISON.
The former Town chief was today unveiled as the new Stockport boss, replacing Gary Ablett who was in charge for the club’s relegation from League One last season.
Simpson has been keen to return to football since being sacked by Shrewsbury at the end of April.
He has been linked with a host of posts in the League One and Two over the summer, and was also reported to have been approached about becoming coach of Libya’s national team.
Simpson’s first meeting with Shrewsbury will come at Edgeley Park on Saturday, August 28, while he will bring his Stockport team to Town on April 16.
