Kiwi Lou Vincent means business for Shropshire game

New Zealand ace Lou Vincent has vowed the international cricket stars will mean business when they descend on Wrekin College to take on Shropshire tomorrow.

Vincent leads an Invitational XI against Shropshire in the Resource Bank Challenge at Wrekin College. He is joined in the line-up by fellow Kiwi Peter Fulton, Indian SS Das and former England star Alex Tudor.

South Australia’s Aiden Blizzard – who earned You Tube fame for hitting what has been dubbed one of the biggest ever sixes is another of the star attractions.

The game will be decided over two Twenty20 innings per side.

“We will be wanting to win, make no mistake,” said Vincent, who has recently been playing Twenty20 cricket for Northamptonshire and represents Nantwich in the Cheshire League.

“There is nothing worse than being in the clubhouse after the game and the opposition knowing they have got one over you. There will be a fun element, but we will be there to win.”

The game will allow Vincent the opportunity to renew acquaintances with Shropshire captain Ed Foster.

“When I was overseas professional at Worcestershire Ed was there as well,” added 31-year-old Vincent.

“He used to knock my bat in and was my little helper so I’m expecting more of the same treatment tomorrow!”

The game starts at 11am, with a crowd of 440 expected in the corporate areas. Admission is free for the general public.
