Shrewsbury Town seek ex-Walsall player Mark Bradley

Shrewsbury Town are tracking former Walsall midfielder and Welsh international Mark Bradley.

The 22-year-old, who was released by Walsall at the end of last season, has held talks with Town boss Graham Turner.

Bradley made more than 100 appearances for the Saddlers and won his first international cap as a substitute for Wales in the 2-0 friendly defeat to Croatia last month.

“We have spoken to Mark – whether there is progress remains to be seen,” confirmed Turner.

“He is a 22-year-old who has played quite a number of League One games.

“He is a player I think has got some potential. We have talked and the ball is in his court.”

Shrewsbury face competition for the services of Bradley from two of their heir League Two rivals.

Burton are believed to be keen to sign the midfielder while Rotherham boss Ronnie Moore has also confirmed his interest.

“We have spoken to Mark and made him a contract offer,” said Moore.

Stressed

“Mark has got great ability and he is just the type of player we are looking for.

“It would be great if we could pull that one off.

“I know he is going to speak to Shrewsbury before he makes his mind up.”

Turner has stressed he remains confident of adding to his squad later this week.

Meanwhile, the Greenhous Meadow chief is pleased with the way his squad have begun pre-season training.

Town began their preparations for the League Two campaign on Thursday.

“The attitude in the first couple of days has been very good,” added Turner.

“They are a very pleasant group of players who have worked hard and the senior players are very good professionals who set the right example.”

Among the fitness work carried out so far has been runs up Haughmond Hill.
