Shrewsbury School in Twenty20 date at Lord’s
Wednesday 23rd June 2010, 12:24PM BST.
Shrewsbury School’s leading cricketers will bid to become national Twenty20 champions at Lord’s on Monday.
The first XI have fought off competition from 160 schools to reach finals day in the HMC Twenty20, where they will compete alongside Bedford, Millfield and Abingdon.
The two semi-finals and final will all be played on the Nursery Ground at Lord’s.
Shrewsbury, who were beaten semi-finalists 12 months ago, booked their place at finals day with a five-wicket triumph over Worksop in Monday’s home northern final.
Batting first, Worksop were restricted to 167-9 and Shrewsbury cruised past the target with two overs to spare.
Ben Williams top scored with 54, Alex Blofield — who also took two wickets – made 45 and Ben Price hit 40. Shrewsbury have won six games to reach the last four in the country.
