Can England salvage World Cup campaign?
Tuesday 22nd June 2010, 12:09PM BST.
England were heading for South Africa’s “Windy City” today with the players hoping to salvage their World Cup campaign by blowing Slovenia away.
And fans will be hoping that Fabio Capello has put a stop to any France-style players’ revolt by slapping down former captain John Terry.
Terry came in for criticism after appearing to indicate he was ready to confront his manager after Friday’s draw with Algeria.
But Capello last night rejected any suggestion that he is facing a World Cup revolution – and insisted Terry was acting alone when he spoke out on Sunday.

“No. This was not a revolution. It was one mistake from one player. No more,” he said.
Terry has apologised to Capello for his outburst, saying: “It was never my intention to upset the manager or the players and, if I did upset anyone, I apologise.”
Schools and business across Shropshire are making plans to cater for fans desperate to watch tomorrow’s must win game, which will kick off at 3pm. Martin Ward, principal of Shrewsbury Sixth Form College, said its timetable would be slightly adjusted with the afternoon session finishing at 2.45pm to allow students and staff to watch the game.
One of rural Shropshire’s biggest employers, milking parlour manufacturer Fullwood Ltd, of Ellesmere, has offered its 180 staff the chance to see the game.
The TUC has urged employers to be flexible. General secretary Brendan Barber said: “To avoid any tensions, bosses should discuss the issue with their staff.”
