Turner promises more Shrewsbury Town signings
Monday 21st June 2010, 1:22PM BST.
Shrewsbury Town boss Graham Turner is hoping to unveil more Shrewsbury Town signings in the “next seven to 10 days.”
Turner completed the arrival of Rotherham defender Ian Sharps in his first week in charge, as well as agreeing a contract extension with Australian Shane Cansdell-Sherriff.
And he is confident of further bolstering his squad shortly.
“There are a couple of things we are working on right at the moment,” said Turner.
“It’s never easy because managers are away at this time of the year and you are speaking to different people at clubs all the while.
“Some managers are also in South Africa so we will keep working and hopefully we will have things to announce in the next seven to 10 days.”
Turner, meanwhile, hasn’t ruled out adding an extra friendly to Shrewsbury’s pre-season programme.
Town currently have home games against Tranmere and Coventry and are guaranteed two matches – and potentially four – in the Joma South West Challenge Cup in Devon.
“We are looking for one more game if we can get it and it maybe a private (behind-closed doors) one,” added the Greenhous Meadow chief.
“We have a couple of phone calls out so we will see what that brings.”
