Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey has won a place as one of the Premier League representatives on the FA Council.

Moxey was elected by representatives from fellow clubs at the recent Premier League AGM, with David Gold also re-elected having now moved on to West Ham.

The Molineux supremo will be one of seven elected representatives alongside Premier League chairman Sir Dave Richards, who has an automatic place and is not elected.

Two vacancies were created on the Council by Gold losing his place due to changing clubs and Portsmouth’s Peter Storrie by virtue of their relegation.

Wolves have not been directly represented on one of the game’s ruling bodies since then MD and former club record scorer John Richards served on the Football League’s management board in the late 1990s, and Moxey is proud to be representing the club.

“I’m pleased to have been elected as one of the Premier League representatives on the FA Council,” said Moxey.

“This will ensure that Wolves have a seat at the table to have some influence on a number of the important issues that affect football.”

“It is relevant that we as a club are able to have an input as well as representing the interests of other clubs similar to ourselves and the Premier League as a whole.

“This is the first time Wolves as a club will be represented in this way and I am looking forward to playing a full part throughout the year ahead.”
