Green howler hands England draw to USA
Sunday 13th June 2010, 10:15AM BST.
An horrendous error by England goalkeeper Rob Green gave the USA a surprise point in the opening Group C game with Fabio Capello’s men in South Africa.

Green failed to hold a speculative Clint Dempsey strike from outside the penalty area, allowing the ball to squirm through his hands and over the line to gift the US an equaliser just before half-time in Rustenburg.
Steven Gerrard put England ahead after just four minutes after he was played in by Aston Villa’s Emile Heskey.
Capello’s men were unable to find a response, with Ledley King only lasting 45 minutes before succumbing to injury and James Milner being withdrawn after 30 minutes, during which he had seemed off the pace.
