Mid-season Shropshire Senior Cup final date

Next season’s Shropshire Senior Cup final between Shrewsbury Town and AFC Telford United will be contested in the middle of the campaign for the second successive year.
The competition has traditionally been the main feature of the pre-season programme but the 2009/10 final, won by Shrewsbury, was played in November.
And Shropshire FA chiefs will adopt the same strategy with the timing of the county’s showpiece football occasion.
“We will hold it on a convenient date for both clubs during the season and we will look to do it before Christmas,” said Shropshire FA spokesman Neil Sambrook.
Shropshire’s third biggest team, Market Drayton Town have again been omitted from the competition – despite playing in Evo-Stik League division one south.
