Shropshire’s cricketers to take on Suffolk

Tuesday 25th May 2010, 3:00PM BST.

Shropshire’s cricketers will take on Suffolk in the quarter-finals of the MCCA Trophy – with the chance to rekindle former glories.

Ed Foster’s side defeated Staffordshire on Sunday to top group A and reach the last eight, and have now learned from Minor Counties officials that they will face Suffolk who were runners-up in group D.

The game will take place on Sunday, June 13 at Shrewsbury.

And it is sure to revive memories of the last meeting between the sides in the 2003 semi-final when Shropshire were away victors to book their place in a Lord’s final.

This season’s final is at the Riverside, Durham.

The full quarter-final draw is: Shropshire v Suffolk, Lincolnshire v Cheshire, Dorset v Wiltshire, Devon v Hertfordshire.
