Bright’s New Zealand World Cup snub
Monday 10th May 2010, 11:16AM BST.
Shrewsbury Town striker Kris Bright has suffered World Cup heartbreak after being left out of New Zealand’s 23-man squad for South Africa.
Bright, who had to wait until the 1-0 victory over Lincoln on April 17 for his first goal of the season, has ended the campaign with a flourish and scored in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Port Vale.
But All Whites head coach Ricki Herbert has overlooked Bright, although he has included former Town loanee Rory Fallon in the squad announced today.
