It’s high fives for Shantry
Thursday 6th May 2010, 1:02PM BST.
Shropshire cricketer Jack Shantry is celebrating his maiden five-wicket haul in First Class cricket.
The 22-year-old claimed figures of 5-49 yesterday to put Worcestershire on top in their LV County Championship division two clash against Leicestershire at Grace Road.
His scalps included former Shrewsbury School pupil and old Shrewsbury team-mate James Taylor who was dismissed for just five.
And left-armer Shantry also got the wicket of Australian Test allrounder Andrew McDonald for 15.
Shantry bowled 20 unchanged overs either side of lunch during which he took four wickets for 44 runs, before returning later to claim his fifth wicket.
