Gary Peters has regrets over Shrewsbury Town departure
Thursday 6th May 2010, 1:07PM BST.
Gary Peters has admitted he still harbours regrets his time in charge of Shrewsbury came to an end in March 2008.
“My first three years were great and I just wish that my last season had turned out a bit different,” he said.
“We had that hangover from losing in the play-off final in that last season.
“If I had my time again, I maybe wouldn’t have offered my resignation when I did because if we had seen that out, we had some good young players to have a go with the next season.
“But one of the reasons I felt it was time to go was that, unlike the chairman, Rob Bickerton (then managing director) wanted to get more involved in the football side of it.”
