Stadium sponsors bow to fan pressure
Wednesday 5th May 2010, 2:15PM BST.
Shrewsbury Town’s new stadium sponsors have bowed to fan pressure by giving supporters the chance to include the word “Meadow” in the ground’s new name.
Greenhous announced a new three-year sponsorship deal with the club yesterday, offering supporters the chance to pick one of four potential names for the current ProStar Stadium.
Fans were offered the choice of Greenhous Stadium, Park, Arena or Coliseum, but the company has now added the option of Greenhous Meadow after pressure from supporters. Spokeswoman Helen Marsden said the option had been added to the online vote already and was proving popular.
She said: “We had a lot of feedback from supporters who were keen to include an option including Meadow as a nod to the club’s proud history. This has now been added to the list of options on www.greenhous.co.uk and voting is back under way.”
Fans have until May 21 to vote with one being picked at random to name the stadium and win tickets for the first home game of next season.

So Keith Sayfritz has saved the club again. Couldn’they get anyone else to sponsor the club after Town’s dismal performances of late. The name of the stadium should be The New Meadow once and for all. Don’t go changing it every 3 years to suit the sponsors. They have their name on the shirts and other merchandise.Lets keep some Shrewsbury Town traditionand for heaven’s sake and get rid of that Mickey Mouse badge!

Dont worry if its called a great or a daft name, as it will be changing every 2/3 years.
A stadium with no soul or history is called a shell.
The manager changes every 2 years, along with the stadiums name.
Funny how the board remain the same though.

Here Here Edward.
I have never and will never buy any Town merchandise with that ugly joke of a badge.
Does anyone like it ?

What about the Gay Greenhous? The club needs a new fan base!

I agree with Edward, but unfortunately money seems to rule sport these days. A football club should be all about tradition and community not a commercial sponsors plaything.
